Class for Tax Preparation: IRS Grants Disaster Tax Relief to All of Arkansas — Deadlines Extended to November 3rd, 2025

In response to the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that hit Arkansas starting April 2, 2025, the IRS has announced broad tax relief for individuals and businesses across the entire state.

If you're an Arkansas resident or business owner, here’s what you need to know:

The IRS has extended a variety of federal tax filing and payment deadlines to November 3, 2025. This applies to:

  • Individual income tax returns and payments (originally due April 15)

  • 2024 contributions to IRAs and HSAs

  • Quarterly estimated tax payments (April 15, June 16, and September 15)

  • Quarterly payroll and excise tax returns (April 30, July 31, and October 31)

  • Calendar-year corporate and fiduciary returns (due April 15)

  • Tax-exempt organization returns (due May 15)

This relief covers all 75 counties in Arkansas, as designated by FEMA. You can always check the IRS's disaster relief page for updates on eligible locations.

Good news: if you missed payroll or excise tax deposits due between April 2 and April 17, 2025, those penalties will be waived—as long as the deposits are made by April 17.

If the IRS has your Arkansas address on file, you don’t need to do anything to get this relief—it’s automatic. But if you’ve moved into the disaster area recently or your tax records are located there but you live elsewhere, you might need to take action.

In that case, call the IRS Disaster Hotline at 866-562-5227. This also applies to relief workers or tax professionals helping affected clients.

If you're in Arkansas and impacted by the April storms, be sure to take advantage of the extra time and support.
